Gabriela Montenegro Calderón is a senior international trade and sustainable development expert with over 25 years of experience across Central America, Latin America, the Caribbean, and global contexts. She specializes in trade facilitation, digital economy, sustainability standards, and regional economic integration, with deep expertise in trade agreements (the EU-Central America Association Agreement, CAFTA-DDR), WTO trade disciplines, a regulatory improvement frameworks. Gabriela has managed regional portfolios for USAID and has provided technical assistance for the World Bank, IDB, ECLAC, SICA/CENPROMYPE, and EU-funded programs. Her work spans trade policy dialogue, digital transformation for agriculture and MSMEs, women's economic inclusion, and regulatory reform. She holds a Master of International Management from Thunderbird/Arizona State University and a Master of Science in Information Systems from the University of Washington. Gabriela is a member of the DigitalTrade4EU Advisory Board and Trade Experettes. She lives currently in the United States, maintaining close ties and projects in Central America.
