Dr. Adam Elhag Ahmed is an Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics in the Department of Agribusiness and Consumer Sciences, College of Agricultural and Food Sciences, King Faisal University,.He got his Bachelor degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Khartoum, Sudan (1994); Master of Science in Agricultural Economics University of Khartoum, Sudan (1997). He obtained his PhD in University of Giessen, Faculty of Agricultural and Nutritional Sciences, Home Economics and Environmental Management, Institute of Agricultural and Food Systems Management Germany, 2004. Joining the Department of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Khartoum (1994) he started off as a Teaching Assistant (1994-98); Lecturer 1999-2000; Assistant Professor 2004-2009 and Associate Professor 2010 to present. Dr. Ahmed has pursued variety of works including teaching courses in food and Nutrition Policies, Introduction to Agricultural Economics; Production Economics; Farm Management; Statistics; Resource Economics and Poverty. Dr. Ahmed has many published articles in peer reviewed journal, books and chapters in book (He published two books, 5 chapters in books, more than 25 article in peer reviewed journal, 20 conference papers). He had a number of consultancies with FAO, WFP, ACSAD, USAID, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forests and Khartoum State Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Production and Irrigation. Dr. Ahmed has lead & co-lead the following national (KACST) research Projects in KSA: (1) Assessment of the Patterns and Determinants of Breastfeeding and Complementary Feeding in Infants in KSA; (2) Assessing Nutrition knowledge-Gap, Nutrition Risk Factors and Behaviors about Type 2 Diabetes among Patients, Health Professionals and General Population in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and (3) The Role of Diets on Non-communicable Disease KSA.
