Hartmann Farm
Imre Hartmann has been involved with agriculture for all his working life. During the communist era he headed one of the sectors of a co-operative farm. As an independent farmer, he started off rearing Hungarian Grey Steppe Cattle in the 1980s, and pork later in the 1990s. After the Restitution, Imre quickly saw the value of agricultural land, and began to buy what he could. By 1993, he had a farm of between 50-60 Ha. In 2001, his son-in-law, Andràs Takács joined him in working on and managing the Hartmann farm, now consisting of some 500 Ha. Andràs himself owns 100 Ha of this land, which he manages as a young farmer.
