An international film festival in the Slovak Republic bucks that stereotype, bringing agricultural production into cinemas and making it understandable and entertaining for everyone.

Now in its 31st year, Agrofilm provides an opportunity to see feature films, documentaries and short videos on agriculture, rural development and nutrition topics. Audiences gain insights into current trends in food production, and confront global issues like climate change, land grabbing, loss of natural resources, and the challenge of feeding 9 billion people by 2030.

This year, 30 films varying in length from 9 to 130 minutes have been selected from more than 100 entries and will be projected throughout this week in Nitra and the surrounding area. Featured entries come from filmmakers in Europe and beyond.
