Elections at CAC44 – what you need to know

Due to the exceptional circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic and considering the successful conduct of the in-person secret ballot during the 42nd Session of the FAO Conference held in June 2021, it was proposed that elections at the 44th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC44) be conducted using the same modality as that approved by the FAO Conference, i.e. in-person voting through secret ballot by appointment.  Members of the Codex Alimentarius endorsed such an approach to be taken for the elections of the officers of the Codex Alimentarius Commission.
