Codex Trust Fund strengthens regional capacity in South Asia
Guwahati, Assam, 17 October 2025
The Codex Committee on Spices and Culinary Herbs (CCSCH) agreed at its 8th session, held 13–17 October, to forward the standard for large cardamom for adoption. The success of this work, which was chaired by Bhutan and co-chaired by Nepal and India, was a significant milestone in regional collaboration under the Codex framework. The decision further underscored the success of this joint effort and the strengthening of collective technical capacity among the participating countries.

CTF / Seminar on harmonizing Uzbekistan’s food safety legislation with international standards
On 18–19 September 2025, a seminar was held in Tashkent on the topic: “The importance of harmonizing the Republic of Uzbekistan’s food safety legislation with international standards for protecting human health and facilitating international trade.

CTF / Two South Sudanese workshops address food safety challenges and national Codex structures
In an effort to create awareness among the high-level decision and policy makers in the country, the Republic of South Sudan organized a National Workshop on Advocacy and dissemination of food safety policy briefs on 23 September 2025. On 24 September, a National stakeholders Consultation Workshop on Codex priority Standards and establishment of National Codex Mirror committees was also convened. CTF / Burkina Faso country story reveals significant impact from Trust Fund project

From principles to practice: Uzbekistan deepens engagement with Codex Alimentarius
Experts, policymakers, and stakeholders from across Uzbekistan and abroad gathered on 23 September 2025 in Tashkent for a workshop on harmonization of the national food safety regulatory framework with Codex Alimentarius. The event sought to strengthen Uzbekistan’s role in Codex Alimentarius and to encourage greater alignment of national regulations with international food safety standards.

CTF/ Zambian national stakeholders trained in Codex electronic working tools
