Biruk Abate Fenta is a lecturer and PhD Candidate at Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, Bahir Dar University. He received BSc. Degree in Chemical Engineering from Bahir Dar University and Master of Technology Degree in Chemical Engineering from Addis Ababa University. His research interest is in food processing and postharvest technology, energy engineering, and food security to improve food and nutrition security. He conducted research in the area of roots and tubers cold storage improvement activities and contributed to the extension of storage life through the scale-up of solar PV capillary absorptive evaporative cold stores. He has been teaching both basic and applied food and chemical engineering courses delivered at the undergraduate level and supervising students’ thesis work. He has also conducted national projects at the university with the team and participated in many national research conferences and published journal articles and proceeding papers.
