According to the French statistics institution (INSEE), the consumer price index increased by 4.8 percent year-on-year in March 2022 (compared with 4.5 percent in March, 3.6 percent in February and 2.9 percent in January 2022). Increased energy costs are again the main contributor to inflation. Food inflation was at 3.8 percent, while fresh food inflation was at 6.6 percent.
