As a result of a shorter winter in southern Central Asian countries, Moroccan Locust (DMA) hatching started in March in Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and probably in Turkmenistan. Almost 10 000 ha were treated in Afghanistan and Tajikistan. DMA hatching will start in April in the other concerned countries. Italian Locust (CIT) hatching should not begin before mid-April in Central Asia and in May in Caucasus.
