FAO Global Conference on Smart Farming

Leveraging data and technology for sustainable agrifood systems

30/06/2026

The FAO Global Conference on Smart Farming will focus on scaling up smart farming systems in a practical and sustainable manner. It will highlight applied innovations that foster entrepreneurship, including among youth and women, and strengthen the use of digital technologies across agriculture, with a focus on improving productivity, resource efficiency and resilience. The conference will also identify priorities for policy, partnerships and investment to support scalable, context-specific solutions, with particular attention to small-scale farmers.

Bringing together stakeholders from around the world - including FAO Members, policymakers, development partners, private sector actors, research and academic institutions, civil society, as well as youth and farmers’ organizations - the conference will provide a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange and collaboration.

The FAO Global Conference on Smart Farming will include:

  • A three-day hybrid event (from 1 to 3 July), featuring high-level dialogue among CEOs, strategic discussions and parallel technical sessions.
  • An exhibition in FAO headquarters (from 29 June to 3 July), showcasing initiatives from FAO, governments, the private sector and partners, with a focus on smart farming systems in practice.

The full programme complete with webcast links and sessions interpretation is available here.
