FAO Global Exhibition: From Seeds to Foods

Every meal has a story. It begins with seeds, soil and water—and with the farmers, fishers and many others who bring food to our tables. The FAO Global Exhibition: From Seeds to Foods invites visitors to explore that journey and discover how innovation and cooperation can help shape a more food-secure future.

After welcoming nearly 10 000 visitors in 2025, the exhibition returns but this time to a larger venue: Circo Massimo, one of Rome’s most historic public spaces, from 8 to 12 October 2026. FAO will bring together 300 exhibitors from more than 140 countries, showcasing 400 agricultural products and more than 40 innovations, with live cooking demonstrations, cultural performances, talks and workshops.

Under the theme “Fostering Innovation for Food Security and Nutrition”, the exhibition will demonstrate how science, innovation, local knowledge and partnerships can strengthen agrifood systems, making them more sustainable and better able to deliver healthy diets for all. The Main Pavilion will focus on five areas central to food and agriculture: crops, livestock, fisheries and aquaculture, forests, and land and water.

Six regional pavilions will showcase foods, cultures and solutions from around the world. FAO divisions, offices and Members will also present practical examples of how countries and communities are improving food security and nutrition. Together, these experiences will demonstrate what is possible when knowledge, innovation and cooperation are put into action.

Food is more than nourishment. It is culture, identity and connection. Through stories, flavours and innovations from around the world, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the people, places and systems behind every meal.

FAO Director-General QU Dongyu will officially open the exhibition on 8 October 2026 at 16.00.
