Brazil's Zero Hunger Project was launched by President Luiz Inàzio Lula da Silva on 30 January 2003. FAO will provide technical support for the programme, which aims to eradicate hunger and malnutrition. FAO Director-General Dr. Diouf spoke about the project during a press conference in Rome last February 2003.
