Data captured in the Project Dashboard is based on data FAO publishes on IATI. As such it is important to note the following:
Data on the project dashboard is updated on a monthly basis (January to November), apart from end of year financial closure where the data for Q1 is not updated on a monthly basis.
Data in the programme of work and budget and the project dashboard captures data in different time series as such data from the individual dashboards should not be compared to each other.

FAO Members are the sovereign states and regional organizations that have formally joined the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in accordance with its Constitution. These Members collectively make up the governing body of the Organization and participate in shaping FAO’s policies, programmes, and global agenda.
Official Definition (from FAO Basic Texts):
FAO Members include all Member Nations and Associate Members of the Organization, as well as the European Union, which is a Member Organization with rights and obligations as defined in FAO’s Constitution and Rules.
Categories of FAO Members
1. Member Nations:
• Sovereign states that have ratified the FAO Constitution.
• As of 2025, FAO has 194 Member Nations.
• These Members have full voting rights and participate in all governing bodies (Conference, Council, Technical Committees, etc.).
2. Associate Members:
• Territories or regions that are not fully sovereign states but have been admitted by the FAO Conference upon application by the authority responsible for their international relations.
• Have limited rights, including participation without vote.
3. Member Organization:
• The European Union (EU) is the only Member Organization.
• It has membership status alongside its individual member states and exercises rights and responsibilities on matters within its competence.
FAO Regional Groups are the official groupings of Member Nations within the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), organized based on geographic regions. These groups play a formal role in governance, elections, and regional coordination within FAO’s institutional framework.
FAO Informal Groups refer to non-statutory, unofficial assemblies of Member Nations or stakeholders within the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) that come together based on shared interests, regional affiliations, or thematic priorities. These groups do not have formal decision-making authority within FAO’s governance structure.
FAO Operational Regions refer to the geographic areas used by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to organize, implement, and manage its field operations, technical assistance, and development programmes.
FAO Private Sector includes all for-profit enterprises or entities, regardless of size, ownership, or legal form. This includes small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), cooperatives, farmers’ organizations, producer organizations, multinational corporations, financial institutions, industry and trade associations, and philanthropic foundations with business interests.
International Financial Institutions (IFIs) are multilateral or regional institutions that provide financial resources and expertise.
Vertical Funds are global financing mechanisms that focus on specific sectors, themes, or global challenges, such as climate change, biodiversity, or environmental sustainability.
Others includes all other partners including inter-governmental organization (IGO), civil society organization (CSO), non-governmental organization (NGO), non-state academia and research institutions (ARIs) and territories that have special status under UN Security Council.
