Программа Всемирной сельскохозяйственной переписи ФАО обеспечивает поддержку странам в проведении национальных сельскохозяйственных переписей. Собранные данные отражают состояние аграрного сектора страны на данный момент – размер наделов, землевладение, тип землепользования, площади, полив, скот, задействованную рабочую силу и другие сельскохозяйственные ресурсы. Эта информация очень важна для планирования сельского хозяйства и выработки политики, исследований, развития сельского хозяйства и мониторинга его воздействия на окружающую среду.
Для этого десятилетия ФАО разработала новый набор руководящих принципов, которые включают ряд нововведений с учетом изменения характера сбора и использования данных. Новые технологии сбора данных были внедрены для значительного сокращения задержки во времени между сбором данных и их анализом. Дополнительные сведения по различным областям были включены/предложены, такие как рыболовство и выбросы парниковых газов, для облегчения контроля за достижением целей устойчивого развития (ЦУР). Среди новых предложенных методик - обновленный подход к оценке продовольственной безопасности путем анализа тяжести ситуации отсутствия продовольственной безопасности, ощущаемой отдельными лицами.

Structural data from agricultural censuses (FAOSTAT analytical brief 83)
The new FAOSTAT domain structural data from agricultural censuses has been set up to disseminate data collected in national censuses of agriculture. The structural data in the domain includes the size and number of holdings, holder gender, land tenure, legal status of holders, and farm labour, among others. The censuses of agriculture are conducted under the FAO’s World Programme for the Census of Agriculture (WCA), which is a decennial programme. This brief covers the period 1990-2010.
