This forum has been set up to discuss available practices for drought-proofing of soil in rainfed agriculture, specifically through soil moisture management. The objective is to determine which practices are most successful and sustainable (in particular for drylands) and to analyse the conditions for their adoption by farmers.

The e-conference will also allow the creation of an informal network of researchers, development agents, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other field practitioners interested in exchanging experiences and promoting optimal farming practices for soil moisture management. Based on comments and interventions of the participants, a review will be published.

Please study the announcement and the introductory paper to obtain an overview of the issues to be discussed, and register before entering the conference. Background papers and links that can also provide valuable support and background information will be welcome as well.

Important notice: the conference will be held in English.
