Due to the possibility that more locusts may be present in the summer breeding areas of the northern Sahel between Mauritania and Sudan than reported by survey, the risk that small groups could form as vegetation dries out, and potential movements from summer breeding areas to autumn/winter ones, the risk level has shifted from CALM to CAUTION for Mauritania, Mali, Algeria, Western Sahara, Niger, Chad and Sudan.
