Expanding AGROVOC: Belarusian joins the multilingual thesaurus

The Food and Agriculture Organization would like to thank the I.S. Lupinovich Belarus Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (BelAL) for expanding the multilingual thesaurus AGROVOC to include Belarusian, and for bringing its multilingual thesaurus AGROVOC from 41 to 42 languages. 

BelAL, a member of the AGROVOC Editorial Community, has contributed 267 Belarusian terms in the latest AGROVOC release in May 2023. The Library is responsible for managing AGROVOC Belarusian content and creating a Belarusian version of the AGROVOC thesaurus.

This achievement was made possible through the collaboration between BelAL, Belarusian linguists, and agricultural researchers, and it represents an important step in AGROVOC's continuous development.
