Description:
Agricultural Extension in South Asia (AESA) is a dynamic network for individuals and organizations involved in Extension and Advisory Services (EAS) across South Asia. Our vision is to enhance food and nutrition security through more effective and efficient EAS in the region. The idea of a dedicated portal for Agricultural Extension in South Asia emerged during consultations on extension and advisory services organized by the Asia Pacific Islands Rural Advisory Services Network (APIRAS) in Los Banos, Philippines (14-15 September 2011) and the Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services (GFRAS) in Nairobi, Kenya (13-18 November 2011). AESA was established in response to the demand for a network of professionals and stakeholders interested in EAS, as expressed in these meetings. As part of GFRAS, AESA is hosted by the Centre for Research on Innovation and Science Policy (CRISP). Our mission is to foster sharing, learning, and networking among extension professionals to build better EAS systems. We publish a variety of knowledge products, including blogs, best practices, meeting notes, book reviews, and course reviews designed to help extension professionals refine their skills.
