Vikram Singh Rawat and Ashish Gupta are farmers and practitioners of innovative agricultural systems for rural regeneration in the Indian Himalayas. Both passionate supporters of Agroecology, Soil Health, Biodiversity and Sustainable Food Systems with a focus on family farms and mountain ecosystems, they founded the Gram Disha Trust which works to "Create Sustainable Value for Smallholders in India and Himalayan Ecosystems". Both are primaries at the Kalasan Nursery Farm, a family run farm nestled in the Mid-Himalayan Region and a mecca for apple growers in India and South Asia to train on advanced apple horticulture methods. They are also associated with Jaivik Haat, a market linkage system running since 2008 which helps incubate and connect smallholder organic farming communities across India with markets with innovative supply chain and price determination models.
