The European Space Agency (ESA) in collaboration with the Land Product Validation subgroup (LPV) of the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) Working Group on Calibration Validation (WGCV) are inviting scientists and experts to share the latest results from their ongoing research, at the 2023 Workshop on Land Product Validation and Evolution (LPVE23) in Frascati (Rome), Italy.

The objectives of the LPVE23 Workshop are to review retrieval methods and Calibration (Cal) /Validation (Val) approaches for satellite-derived essential climate variables, assess the readiness of existing Cal/Val infrastructure and protocols for future satellite land missions, and promote cooperation and harmonization among Cal/Val Networks. The workshop also aims to report on recent field campaigns and encourage the adoption of metrological practices, discuss progress on radiative transfer models and data harmonization, formulate recommendations for future land products, and gather Cal/Val needs regarding ground-based infrastructure and data accessibility.
