Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and International Organization for Standardization/ Technical Committee-211 (ISO/TC211) organized the seventh Advisory Group-13 (AG13) on Land Cover and Land Use meeting on 16 May 2023 to raise awareness of the importance of LCLU and collect input on describing the challenges of promoting, developing, and implementing the related standards.

This meeting was scheduled within the 56th Plenary Week Hybrid Meeting event planned for Jeonju, South Korea, May 15 to 19, 2023 from 6:30 to 8:00 UTC.

More than 30 experts from national and international organizations participated in the meeting. Experts from Joint Research Center - European Commission (JRC-EC), European Space Agency (ESA), and Italian Research Center (CNR) presented their work on land cover and land use. Ms. Mariam Akhter, Assistant Chief Conservator of Forests, from the Bangladesh Forest Department, chaired the roundtable discussion.
