In the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the vulnerabilities of the fisheries and aquaculture sector but also its strengths. On World Ocean Day, we are happy to invite you to join the GFCM, together with experts and stakeholders from across the region, for a series of discussions on promoting the sector’s resilience. In particular, the discussions aim to provide insights on the impacts of COVID-19 and identify effective responses that could guide a way forward for the sector, facilitating its adaptation to global changes.

This online forum is part of the activities organized by the GFCM to gain a better understanding of the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on the fisheries and aquaculture sectors. The conclusions of these discussions will contribute to a wider reflection on the measures taken, lessons learnt and future actions for the region.
