The Technical guidelines for scientific surveys in the Mediterranean and Black Sea have been produced as an e-book. Different e-book versions are now available on Apple, Amazon, Google Books  and Smashwords and readers can download these device-friendly electronic versions of the publication. 

The publication describes procedures and sampling for demersal (bottom and beam) trawl surveys and pelagic acoustic surveys. In the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, these routine surveys-at-sea provide valuable information to fine-tune assessments of the status of resources and precisely estimate indicators at the population and fish community levels. However, survey practices, and their strengths and weaknesses, differ between sub-regions. This publication presents methodology that aims to support the planning and implementation of regional demersal (bottom and beam) trawl and pelagic acoustic surveys, increase comparability between existing surveys and define minimum requirements towards sustainability and management objectives.
