MAFAP in Ethiopia: Implementation on track

07 Feb 2014
The partnership between FAO and the Ethiopian Development Institute (EDRI) is giving its first encouraging results.

EDRI showed great commitment in MAFAP by assigning seven researchers to work on ten commodities and on a Public Expenditure technical note.

Since the launch of the collaboration in November 2013, a MAFAP expert based on the EDRI premises has been working in close collaboration with the local team, carrying out technical work and supporting the coordination of the project, as well as ensuring communications with government institutions and development partners.

FAOET and FAOSFE were also engaged in the process, and have been regularly updated on the progress made.
The researchers will now carry out the work independently, whilst the MAFAP expert continues to support and monitor the progress of the project from Rome HQ.
