Mitigation of Climate Change in Agriculture (MICCA) Programme

NAMA Partnership

The UNFCCC NAMA Partnership is a group of multilateral organizations, bilateral cooperation agencies and think tanks that have come together to work on Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs). Members of FAO’s MICCA team are focal points for the NAMA Partnership. They participate in the Monitoring, Reporting and Verification working group, and have provided feedback on member draft publications under review.

MICCA is currently participating in the development of the “Compendium on baselines”, that is led by the NAMA Partnership and an associated Steering Committee comprised of representatives of partner organizations (i.e. World Bank, UNEP, UNDP, UNFCCC, GIZ, WRI).

MICCA will provide leadership and expertise on setting baselines in the AFOLU sector, and will contribute to the development of a chapter on approaches, data requirements, and projections of baseline emissions at different levels specific to these sectors.
