Mr.Tomio Shichiri, FAO Representative in India visited the Uttar Pradesh Water Sector restructuring Project (UPWSRP) last week. The discussions with the team were focussed around improved understanding and implementation of Farmer Water School (FWS), and focus on studying and evaluating the impacts of FWS.

Up till now, the focus of the project has been to set up new FWS. The startegy for upcoming months will now focus on the impact evalaution of FWS on crop and water productivity along with the behavioural change in the farmers vis a vis the usage (for irrigation) and management of ground and surface water resources.
