FAO facilitates training on WHONET for members of the Indian Network for Fishery and Animals Antimicrobial Resistance (INFAAR), December 05, 2022

FAO organised a training on WHONET for all members of the Indian Network for Fishery and Animals Antimicrobial Resistance (INFAAR) primarily for troubleshooting, at Kolkata on December 05, 2022. It was facilitated by two international trainers, Prof Jyoti Iravane and Dr Rajesh Bhatia, and attended by over 30 participants.

WHONET is a freely downloadable and easy-to-use antimicrobial resistance (AMR) data management software. It is in wide use in more than 130 countries by around 3000 laboratories. To assist all members of INFAAR in data management, FAO has conducted three training courses over the last four years. Most of the laboratories started using and sharing their data on files generated by the WHONET software.

At the training, various aspects of the software were demonstrated, revisited and queries of participants were addressed. It was agreed that all members of INFAAR shall henceforth submit their data files only in WHONET.
