UN-Water websites (2006-2012)Since 2006 FAO-Water has played a key role in UN-Water's communication.

The initially two-strong team delivered its first website, launched at the World Water Forum in Mexico in 2006.

The duo worked pro-bono until 2010, when UN-Water communication needs had expanded so much that called for extra support. Since 2010, the group has grown over the years to include more profiles.
The larger team provided communication services expanded to other areas, including outreach, advocacy and social media campaigns.

The strong ‘branding’ and ‘visual identity’ activities built a very positive image for UN-Water. Besides continuously improving and expanding the site to respond to its growing needs and activities, the team has been the home of the creative direction for the World Water Day campaigns. Every year, in close collaboration with the coordinating UN organization, the team has transformed this yearly event into an increasingly successful campaign with impressive public participation.

The FAO-Water communication team has ensured high visibility to UN-Water through the design of pavilions at worldFood for the cities pavilion (2011) water forums and water day events as well as through the development of strategic communication products, including policy briefs, brochures, reports, large exhibts posters and so on.

It also proved instrumental in deilverying prototypes with particularly user friendly interfaces to ensure the effective use and adoption of more technically oriented products, such as the UN-Water's Key Water Indicator Portal or the Activity Information System.
