Livestock, Climate and Environment (LCE) Community of Action

The Livestock, Climate and Environment (LCE) Community of Action is a forum focusing on technical discussion  for climate action and environmental improvement of feed and livestock production systems. The group, open to all stakeholders, comes together to share experience, knowledge, and best practices on collectively-agreed methods developed by FAO and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Through this Community, members can:

  • Launch and contribute to thematic discussions focused on:
    • climate action and eco-friendlier production practices.
    • circular bio-economy.
    • inventories of greenhouse gas emissions and removals.
    • eco-inventories.
    • innovation.
    • generation of knowledge and policy options.
  • Seek for missing data and share views on data quality, impact assessment, and interpretation to conduct environmental assessments aligned with FAO LEAP guidelines or IPCC guidelines on Greenhouse Gas Inventories.
  • Disseminate project findings and discuss applications of the FAO LEAP guidelines, GLEAM, or IPCC guidelines on Greenhouse Gas Inventories.
  • Identify and discuss gaps in the FAO LEAP methodology and propose ways to fill them.
  • Seek the advice and opinions of experts and peers.
  • Contribute to international cooperation and sustainable development through peer support.
  • Post job vacancies and connect with potential candidates.
  • Promote learning opportunities, events and resources to facilitate the application of the FAO LEAP guidelines, GLEAM, or IPCC guidelines on Greenhouse Gas Inventories.
