REDD+ Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation

This case study from Chile applies state-of-the-art monitoring approaches to forest conservation, restoration and managment. It offers a glimpse into Chile's efforts to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and enhancement on forest carbon stocks (REDD+).

Launched by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), ECOWAS Gender Development Centre (EGDC), and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), this publication aims to identify gender challenges within the West African forestry sector, drawing its data from a gender analysis focused on ECOWAS’s 15 member countries. In addition, the brief provides preliminary recommendations to address these disparities.
