President of Uzbekistan urges international cooperation on nutrition goals
At the International Conference on the Most Important Reserves of Implementing the Food Program in Uzbekistan, held on 6 June, 2014, the president of Uzbekistan H.E. Mr. Islam Karimov stressed the critical role nutrition plays in human health and in the country’s development. “Life expectancy and living standards of people are inseparably linked with the healthy and balanced nutrition,” he said, adding that “the urgent and very important problems related to ensuring food security, certainly, require greater coordination and interaction, large-scale international cooperation and elaboration of concerted approaches and assessments for the future.”
