2 December. Caution continues in several countries

Control operations are in progress against gregarious or gregarizing populations in Sudan, Pakistan and Mauritania. There are unconfirmed reports of gregarizing infestations in Mali and Niger, and there is a risk of locust migration from Sudan to Saudi Arabia.

3 November. Threat level increases to CAUTION after summer breeding

As a result of good summer breeding, locust activity increased in Mauritania, Niger, Sudan, Pakistan and India. Any groups or swarms that form in Sudan could appear in the winter breeding areas along the Red Sea coast in Sudan or Saudi Arabia.

2 July. Situation returns to calm in all countries

Due to control operations and low numbers of locusts, the threat level has declined in Saudi Arabia and remains calm for all countries.

As control operations continue against small hopper bands, there is a risk that adults may form groups and move into the interior.
