Whereas traditional aquaculture, as practised for thousands of years in Asia, has always been perfectly integrated into its natural, agricultural and human environment, new approaches are currently emerging with the objective of furthering and sustaining the sector growth. This article refers to the World Aquaculture Society - European Aquaculture Society’s AQUA 2018 International Conference that took place in Montpellier, France (25-29 August 2018).
