The Iranian food system faces several challenges, threatening the food security of the inhabitants and contributing to the depletion of resources: international economic sanctions leading to inflation and unprecedented price peak, scarcity of water resources and intensive and non-adapted cultural practices. Some initiatives emerge, but remain isolated. However, it is urgent to rethink modes of production and consumption now, in order to build a better future for all Iranians.
