COP 16 Pollinators Event " Pollinators in Latin America: Implementing the International Pollinator Initiative from the Region", 21 October 2024 at 13:30 COT
This event discusses the conservation and sustainable use of pollinators under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), with the FAO taking the lead in implementing related decisions.
Under decision 14/6. Conservation and sustainable use of pollinators, a new plan of action (2018 – 2030) was adopted. In Annex I to the decision, it is noted “this new phase is also intended to align the activities on pollination and pollinators more closely with FAO regional and country offices to create synergies and provide broader support. The full implementation of the second phase of the Plan of Action at the national and regional levels will depend on the availability of resources.” The FAO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean will present and highlight their work to implement the section Plan of Action for pollinators.
