The HLPE-FSN regularly conducts inclusive, transparent and evidence-based consultations to inform its reports and recommendations.
This page gathers all ongoing and past consultations, along with related background documents, inputs received, and official proceedings.

Consultations are primarily held online, at key stages of the report development process, specifically on the scope of the report and on the first draft or version 0 draft (V0 draft). V0 drafts are deliberately shared early enough in the process – as work in progress, with their range of imperfections – to ensure transparency and allow ample time to consider the contributions received and foster meaningful dialogue.
In-person consultations can also be organized when appropriate in specific cases, to encourage direct dialogue and broader engagement. These consultations are a vital part of the HLPE-FSN’s inclusive and knowledge-based approach, enabling engagement of members and participants of CFS and of the wider scientific and knowledge community and the incorporation of diverse forms of knowledge and expertise.
The HLPE-FSN invites experts, practitioners, policymakers, and all interested stakeholders to explore the consultations and contribute their insights to help shape the global narrative on food security and nutrition.
The HLPE-FSN draws its studies based on existing research and knowledge already conducted by various expertise-providing institutions and adding value by global, multi-sectoral and multidisciplinary analysis, and translates the richness and variety of forms of expert knowledge from many actors that draw on both local and global sources, into policy-related forms of knowledge.
