Mahmud Duwayri is presently a freelance consultant working to enhance food security and strengthen work on water, food, and energy and environment nexus and improve agricultural higher education curricula to meet future needs.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Duwayri was a faculty member of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jordan during the period 1973 - 2016. During his career, he occupied many positions: 

  • Minister of Agriculture, Jordan – June 2001 – September 2002. 
  • President, Ajloun National University, Ajloun – Jordan, June 2009 – August 2010.
  • Director, Plant Production and Protection Division, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Rome – Italy, January 1998 June 2001.
  • Vice President, Jordan University for Science and Technology, Irbid – Jordan, January 1996 – December 1997. 
  • Director General, National Center for Agriculture Research and Technology Transfer (NCARTT), Amman – Jordan, September 1992 September 1994. 
  • Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain - United Arab Emirates, August 1990 – September 1992. 
  • Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jordan, Amman – Jordan, October 1984 – August 1989.

He is a national of Jordan.
