FAO in Lesotho
The Kingdom of Lesotho joined FAO in 1966 and the country office was established in 1983. FAO partners with the Government of Lesotho to develop and implement agricultural and rural development policies and programmes, aimed at ensuring that everyone has consistent access to nutritious, high-quality food for active and healthy lives. The Country Programming Framework (2024-2028) outlines FAO’s continued commitment to supporting Lesotho in three key focus areas: (1) Good governance and social equity; (2) Equitable food systems, environmental sustainability, and climate action; (3) People’s wellbeing and economic development.
