The Commission works with member countries on their preparedness, with European neighbors to put in place sustainable control programmes, and to support and promote the global strategy for progressive control of Foot-and-Mouth Disease through close partnership with DG-SANTE of the European Commission (EC) and with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Organization of Animal Health (WOAH). The Progressive Control Pathway for Foot-and-Mouth Disease (PCP-FMD) developed by FAO and EuFMD and further endorsed by the WOAH, guides endemic countries through a series of incremental steps to better manage FMD risks. [read more]

Training
EuFMD’s Training courses provide a unique opportunity to gain first hand experience in the diagnosis and investigation of an FMD outbreak. Over 1000 participants from 50 countries have benefitted from these courses since 2009. [read more]
