46th General Session of the EuFMD

The Commission’s Member Nations meet in General Session every two years – most of the delegates are the Chief Veterinary Officers of their respective countries. At the General Session, the Member Nations review the activities of the previous biennium, agree a work plan and budget for the next biennium and elect an Executive Committee and a Standing Technical Committee.
The 46th General Session will be held in FAO hq, Rome, Italy, from 6 to 7 May 2025.
The agenda will cover the following points of discussion:
- Long-term strategy for the EuFMD
- Global foot-and-mouth disease surveillance reports
- Overview of activities conducted by the EuRL reference laboratory
- FAST situation in the neighbourhood and FAST risk for Europe
- Trade in livestock as driver of long-distance spread of TADs
- Update on EuFMD tools and resources
- Country reports
- EuFMD 2023-2025 biennium
- Status of FMD antigen and vaccine banks in Europe
- Report of the EuFMD Committees
