The objectives of the meeting are to:

• Facilitate sharing of information on surveillance activities implemented by participating countries.
• Provide a platform for countries to discuss constraints and challenges met in implementing their surveillance systems.
• Identify specific needs of the region in respective topic to customize programmes that improve country capacity.
• Provide participating countries with regional and international technical assistance.
