Special Committee on Biorisk Management (SCBRM)
The Special Committee on Biorisk Management (SCBRM) provides guidance on training including the Minimum Standards. It supports the needs of the FMD Biorisk management community. Therefore providing assistance to training initiatives of the commission It aims to maintain an overview of development in biocontainment and improve the channel of communication with experts in member nations who have FMDV Biorisk management responsibilities.

Minimum standards for Laboratories working with Foot-and-Mouth Disease virus in vitro and in vivo
On the 28th April 2009, the Minimum Standards for Laboratories working with Foot-and-mouth disease virus in vitro and in vivo" was adopted at the 38th General Session of EUFMD. The Minimums Standards had superseded the prior Standards (1993 and 1985). During the 40th General Session of the EuFMD Commission, the Minimum Standards were revised. At the 44th General Session in April 2021, the Minimum Standards were further revised.
