The growing recognition of family farming as part of the solution of sustainable development: evidence from recent policy shifts

The International Year of Family Farming represented a historical recognition of the actual and potential contribution of close to 40 per cent of the worlds—and a majority of the developing worlds—population, to poverty eradication, food and nutrition security, as well as to the sustainable management of natural resources.
