Pamo Volunteers was established in 1995 by men and women of vision who were mindful of the serious problems, which the vulnerable and disadvantaged people of - Uganda are facing. It is a vibrant NGO. It was registered with the National Registration Board of Non- Governmental Organizations (NGOS) in Kampala in 1996 and was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee and not having a share capital on 3rd March 2009. It has a visionary compassionate approach of community development and is accredited member with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).The word ‘Pamo’ comes from a vernacular word ‘Ipamora’ which means ‘People who share at all times’. MISSION To improve the quality of life of the vulnerable and disadvantaged people by enabling them, their families, and communities to meet their basic needs and to increase their ability to participate in and benefit from their societies. Overall objective: Poverty alleviation and improved welfare of the moderate and extreme poor in rural areas. Main activities: Water and sanitation; rural development; health general; environment protection; climate change; human rights; sustainable agriculture, Women, girls and youth empowerment.
