Seaworthiness and Safety Inspection checklists for small fishing vessels
This checklist tool supports the application of the FAO Guidelines for Seaworthiness and safety inspection of small fishing vessels. It includes hull, machinery, safety and stability items that need to be inspected to certify the fitness for purpose of small fishing vessels. This tool automatically lists the relevant items based on the selection of hull material, engine type and vessel type (decked or undecked). The Excel spreadsheet tool is based on the Safety Recommendations for Decked Fishing Vessels of Less than 12 metres in Length and Undecked Fishing Vessels (FAO/ILO/IMO, 2012) and the Implementation Guidelines on Part B of the Code, the Voluntary Guidelines and the Safety Recommendations (FAO/ILO/IMO, 2014), which are internationally accepted boat construction and outfitting standards.
