A women’s Community Forest User Group in Nepal is turning fire prevention into an innovative climate-resilient green enterprise. Twenty women from the Binayi Triveni Municipality in Nepal’s Western region collect forest litter – the bark, leaves and sticks on the forest floor that can fuel wildfires - and transform it into organic fertilizer which is bought by local farmers and government nurseries. Thanks to the growing success of the Binayi Biofertilizer Enterprise, livelihoods are improving across the community and there is a 70% reduction in wildfires.
