森林遗传资源是指树木和其他木本植物物种内部及之间保存的可遗传物质，决定着森林及其他以树木为基础的系统的韧性、适应力和生产力，对可持续发展意义重大。加强这些资源的保护、可持续利用和开发，对于管理和利用好全球森林及其他林地（包括农林混作系统）至关重要。
