多年来，粮农组织在合作伙伴和双边捐助方的支持下，在 50 多个国家实施了 80 多个火灾管理实地项目。这些项目强调了采取综合性且参与式方法进行火灾管理的必要性，包括让当地人民参与计划的规划和执行；参与野火的防范、监测和控制工作；以及参与利用火作为农业、牧场和林地管理工具的合理管理工作。此外，每个项目都包含有关国家能力建设和法律审查的重要内容。
