G77 & China Plenary meeting, September 2025
The G77 & China - Rome Chapter met on 18 September 2025 at FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy. The meeting reaffirmed Members’ commitment to work together and to strengthen its voice in multilateral dialogue on food security matters.
Discussions addressed the Group’s contribution to the upcoming 53rd Session of the Committee on World Food Security, the 141st Programme Committee and the 206th Finance Committee, exchanges about the ongoing work related to potential FAO reforms, among other strategic topics.
In conclusion, the Chairperson, Mr Tomás Duncan Jurado (Deputy Permanent Representative of Panama),extended sincere appreciation for the participation in the meeting and the efforts of all Members, stating: “Our ability to act with unity and foresight is what strengthens the role of the G77 & China within the multilateral system.”
