FAO's GEF-funded project in Afghanistan's Bamyan province is implementing community-driven approaches to sustainable land management to restore degraded rangelands. The project recently supported construction of Passive Solar Houses (PSH) to provide alternative livelihood options to the community, decrease land degradation, and increase rangeland productivity.

السيد José Augusto López Zambrano هو صياد من الجيل الثالث من مدينة مانتا (Manta) الساحلية في إكوادور. وهو يبلغ من العمر 41 عامًا وأب لطفلين، ويصطاد منذ ثلاثة عقود سمك التونة بالصنارة، وهي طريقة تتطلّب منه أن يلقي طُعمًا حيًّا في المياه لاستدراج الأسماك قبل رمي الصنارة في المياه لصيدها.
